As a Real Estate agent in a highly competitive market, we are constantly re-inventing ways to positively describe listings to make them as appealing and attractive to buyers as possible.  Here are the Top 15 most creative terms used in Real Estate agent ads, and what they really mean.

 

1.  “Cozy” – Small/Tiny

2.  “Charming” – Old

3.  “Original Condition” – Decor/appliances have not been updated in 50 years

4.  “Lots of Potential” – lots of unfinished projects the seller didn’t finish

5.  “Great Bones/Handyman’s Dream” – It’s a dump, you’ll probably need a contractor

6.  “Conveniently located” – Loud/noisy

7.  “Tranquil/ Country Living” – Isolated/ Kind of far

8.  “Desirable Neighborhood” – small overpriced house in snobby area

9.  “Efficiently-Designed Kitchen” – Only enough room for one cook

10.  “One car garage” – You can drive it in but might have difficulty getting out

11.  “Useable land” – no trees or landscaping

12.  “Must See Inside” – Outside is ugly

13.  “Unique” – Hard to sell

14.  “Motivated Sellers” – Deduct 20% from the price

15.  “Just Became Available” – someone just died/possibly haunted
